I wasn’t able to spend Thanksgiving with my family back in Boston this year so I called my family to say hello and Happy Thanksgiving.
Of course, you have to leave it to my favorite aunt whom I will call Gomo #1 (‘Gomo’ means ‘Aunt’ in Korean) to leave me with a laugh. (She is the same aunt that had that confusion about the Corona shirt if you’ve read my past stories about her).
Gomo #1 told me she missed me and that she felt very bad for me because I’m one of two Yims not at her house this Thanksgiving. She then proceeded to tell me that I have been replaced by a young Barack. I asked her what she meant…., and she said “Scott (my brother) brought his roommate who didn’t go home to Canada over for the holiday, and I called him ‘Obama’ all day because he looks like a young Barack. I’m not kidding Mandy, a young Obama who goes to Harvard was in my house with us for Thanksgiving!”
But here is real Obama and “young Obama” (far left below the real Obama) you can judge for yourself if they resemble one another. Ha. Happy Thanksgiving.
